Our Akamas and Blue Lagoon Safari Land Tours Itinerary

Safari 1 -   Optional  bbq lunch to include a glass of wine or soft drink.
Duration of this safari tour is approximately 8 - 9 hours. This tour will have a maximum of 10 travelers.

Please note that times listed are approximate times.

08.30 -   Pick up from your designated hotel and we make our way to our first stop "Sea Caves".

09.00 -   Here at Sea Caves we will see the shipwreck of Edro II, a 83 meter long, 2,517 ton freighter which ran
aground in very stormy weather in the Sea Caves area of Paphos between Coral Bay and St Georges
Island on 8 December 2011. At around 09.20 we will take in the spectacular views of this wild coastline.

09.40 -   We travel onward to see the little known but spectacular water falls near to Kathikas village called
the secret waterfall of Kritou Terra.

10.30 -   We visit the baths of Aphrodite's and hot or cold soft drinks are available here. Situated about 18 miles
from the coastal town of Paphos, the natural cavern here features a caved shallow pool encompassed
by ferns and a large fig tree which caters for the shade. A natural spring supplies the water to the pool.
According to myth, Aphrodite would bathe in this pool and is where she first met her great love- Adonis.
The waters here are said to hold special rejuvenating powers.

11.20 -   The main highlight of the tour is the visit to the Blue Lagoon. You should not forget to bring towels for
this exhilarating water experience. The Blue lagoon is the most popular place of Akamas peninsular
and thousands of people have visited it for its crystal blue shallow very warm waters. Blue Lagoon lies
in this small bay and you can see all the way to the underlying sea bed surrounded by fish. The water in
this area of the Akamas Peninsula is so inviting and refreshing you will want to swim all day long in this
beautiful environment or go snorkeling and look around you underwater for meters.

12.30 -   Having spent a great time bathing in blue waters, we are off to Kioni where you should get your cameras
and mobiles ready for a photo session. Then we are off to visit the home of the Green and Loggerhead
Turtles breeding grounds of Lara Bay where  provisions are constantly being made for safe sites for the
egg laying of these sea creatures.

13.00 -   Lara Bay and Beach. The sands are soft and golden, while the sea is crystal clear and clean. On the
north-west coast of the island of Cyprus, is the extensive and often near-deserted sandy beach and one
of the few remaining havens for loggerhead and green turtles to nest – so loungers and umbrellas and
general sunbathers are not allowed. Monk seals also dwell in the sea caves off and around this
peninsula. Experience the Cyprus coast as it was before the vigorous development that has enveloped
much of the Cypriot waterfront. In this corner of the island, that includes the Akamas peninsula, with
fantastic walks, the most beautiful and varied coastline and, in spring especially, a breathtaking
plethora of flora.  A 4×4 vehicle is necessary to reach this expansive and virtually deserted beach and
    peninsular.

13.30 -   Optional lunch can be arranged for us all at the Lara Bay Tavern which will consist of bbq chicken and
salad with a glass of wine or a choice of juices. Should you prefer fish, please advise us at least 24
    hours before your tour begins.

15.00 -   Now we have wined and dined, we are off for a walk and hope we loose a few calories. The Gorge of
Avacas found on the western tip of the Akamas Peninsula, this impressive gorge lies approximately
18 kilometres from the coastal town of Paphos. The trail leading through the gorge is roughly 2½k
long with sheer rocks on both sides reaching up to 260 feet in height. The narrowest point being 10 feet
wide. Deep inside the gorge you will encounter rare plants and flowers, reptiles, immense cliffs and
    even wild mountain goats.

16.00 -   Time to head homeward bound and we take the coastal road back into Paphos.

16.30 -   Back to your hotel drop off. We hope you have had a very pleasant and interesting days land safari tour with
us and we look forward to having you select one of our other tour safaris. Perhaps try our Sea Safari next
time. Please ask the driver for details.
